AL Awards Best Batter Prize to Barna Monday, September 25th , 2000 It was an extraordinary week for Babe Barna of the Seattle Mariners. First he goes on a hot hitting streak, batting .552, then he is voted the Player of the Week in the American League. Last week Barna went 16-for-29, racked up 3 home runs and 7 RBIs and scored 7 runs. It was a heck of a week for the Seattle right fielder. Thus far this year, Barna has hit .294 with 18 home runs and 94 RBIs. |
