White Sox Munger Tames Miami

In a remarkable performance, Chicago (A) White Sox starter Red Munger beat the Miami Marlins, 1-0, in an impressive 3-hit shutout.
"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."
The White Sox hurler finished with 6 strikeouts and no walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
"It was a rough one for my guys," Miami manager Bobby K said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
For this year, Munger has chalked up 12 wins and 8 losses in 30 starts with 132 strikeouts in 201.1 innings and a 4.16 ERA.
