Albie Lopez said he's proud of what he's accomplished in professional baseball and he's now comfortable walking away from the sport.
The San Francisco Giants reliever announced today that this season will be his last.
"It's Freedom 36," he joked with reporters. "I'm happy to get out now and am looking forward to enjoying retirement."
In his 395-game career Lopez has been credited with 116 wins, 102 losses and 1 saves. His ERA stands at 4.39, and he has fired third strikes past 1260 batters in 1903.1 innings while giving up 672 walks.
