Marlins Owner Dead, Miami Mourns
Saturday, September 9th , 2000
The people of Miami and the Miami Marlins are in grief today with the death of the team's owner Chris Bruning, who died earlier in the week from illness. Bruning will be memorialized at his funeral tomorrow at a local church. Speculation on the new owner centers on his oldest son. Reliable sources in the Miami press are reporting that Marcos Bruning has in the inside track on replacing his father in the club's organization. What type of owner will the junior Bruning be? His managerial style is said to be demanding. Monetarily Bruning is reported to be normal.
