The Arizona center fielder made Colorado defenders earn their pay, lashing Colorado pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it." "Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Bruce said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch." Jay Bruce hit a solo-shot off Gerry Janeski in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
