Miami Gets 3-1 Win
|
The Miami Marlins got a magnificent effort from pitcher Chris Holt, who kept Minnesota hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Marlins win at Metropolitan Stadium. The Marlins now have a record of 35-63 with the win over Minnesota.
Miami used the hitting of Riggs Stephenson to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Marlins on top, 3-0. For the game, Stephenson had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said Minnesota manager Dan Hornbaker.
