With 7-3 Win, Phillies Improve to 6-4
|
The Philadelphia Phillies trumped the Minnesota Twins, 7-3, at Veterans Stadium. Philadelphia right fielder Jay Buhner was terrific. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The victory makes Philadelphia 6-4, as the team seeks a return to the playoffs in 2000.
Early in the game, Buhner had a 3-run home run for Philadelphia. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Phillies on top, 4-1.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Buhner told the Philadelphia Daily.
