Miami Beaten, 3-1, by Baltimore
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Baltimore Orioles and the Miami Marlins, Kevin Tapani, who is tied for 7th in the AL in quality starts with 11, proved to be the difference. The Baltimore right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Orioles win. The Orioles go to 37-57 with the win.
Baltimore took a 3-1 lead on Ryan McMahon's 11th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which McMahon hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Miami pitcher Shawn Hillegas visibly frustrated.
McMahon attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
