Diamondbacks Upend Marlins, 4-1
|
Frank Baumann, who is tied for 4th in the NL in wins with 9, imposed his will on the Marlins from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the left-hander spearheaded the 4-1 Arizona triumph. Baumann, now 9-7, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The Diamondbacks have an impressive 56-35 record.
Rusty Torres helped out the Arizona cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 3 with a walk.
"We had a good game plan," Baumann said, "and we were able to execute it."
