Yankees Lose at Home, 4-2
|
The Cleveland Guardians picked up a win at Yankee Stadium, topping the New York (A) Yankees, 4-2. On the mound for Cleveland was left-hander David Wells. He played a principal role in the triumph. The Guardians improved their record to 37-52 with the win over New York (A).
Cleveland used a clutch at-bat from Luis Urias to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Guardians ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Cleveland manager Kevin Conway said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
