|
Though he had a terrific game, Kendrys Morales could not prevent his team, the Colorado Rockies, from absorbing a loss. New York (N) won the game, 6-5. Morales was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Jeremy Affeldt snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-1 on the season. Alex Carrasquel suffered the loss. With the win, the Mets have a record of 54-32.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Zeke Bonura? The two-time All-Star Bonura stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put New York (N) up, 6-5. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
Bonura told the New York (N) Daily: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
