Diamondbacks Win, 4-1, Extend Streak to 4 Games
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks dealt the Miami Marlins a 4-1 loss at Chase Field. Jay Bruce, the 17th overall pick in the 1995 draft, was the star on offense. He was 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The loss drops Miami to 4-5.
Early in the game, Bruce had a 2-run home run for Arizona. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Diamondbacks on top, 2-0.
"Bottom line," said Miami skipper Bobby K, "we didn't play well enough to win."
