Milwaukee center fielder Dale Murphy helped his team beat the Chicago (A) White Sox, 14-1. Murphy, the 3rd overall pick in the 1998 draft, went 2 for 5 for the Brewers. The winning pitcher was Sonny Gray. He tossed 111 pitches over 8 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits.

Murphy contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Milwaukee in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Murphy took a curveball from Kevin Foster and stroked the home run to left-center. His 21st home run of the season allowed the Brewers to leap in front, 3-1.

"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Brewers," said Murphy.
