Rockies Win at Home, 5-4
|
The Colorado Rockies spoiled a good performance by New York (N) first baseman Zeke Bonura, bumping off New York (N), 5-4, at Coors Field. Bonura was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. Sean Depaula earned the save, his 1st, for the Rockies. The 8th-place Rockies now have a record of 37-50.
The Rockies got a big at-bat from right fielder Kevin Pillar. For the game, Pillar went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Colorado a 4-3 lead.
After the game, Colorado manager Ben Thompson applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
