Boston Beaten, 5-3, by Milwaukee
|
Dave Coggin was locked in. The right-hander led the Milwaukee Brewers to a 5-3 win against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. Milwaukee pitcher Ed Hanyzewski earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Brad Halsey suffered the loss. Jonathan Broxton recorded the save for Milwaukee, his 3rd of the season.
Milwaukee used the timely hitting of Bruce Bochte to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Brewers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Bochte.
Boston now has a record of 5-4.
