Rendon Delivers Walk-Off Win for Guardians
|
The Cleveland Guardians had to overcome a big game from Boston designated hitter Jeff Kent to leave League Park with a victory. And they did, winning, 6-4. Kent was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Cleveland reliever Camilo Doval picked up the win to move to 3-2. Mike Fiers suffered the loss. The Guardians sport a record of 32-49.
Cleveland got a knockout punch from Anthony Rendon. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
Cleveland manager Kevin Conway commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
