Sanford Finds Groove in 6-1 New York (A) Triumph
|
Jack Sanford, who is tied for 7th in the AL in complete games with 3, never let the Red Sox get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Yankees to a win, 6-1. New York (A) is now 35-45, Boston 37-44.
New York (A) starter Jack Sanford was exceptional. The 6-foot-0 right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits over 9 innings of work.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Sanford.
