The Milwaukee Brewers picked up a win at Miller County Field, taking down the Seattle Mariners, 5-1. Starting pitcher Tom Brewer was a big reason why. After today's action, Milwaukee sits at 51-26, while Seattle falls to 45-34.

Dale Murphy had a big 2-run home run for the Brewers in the bottom of the first inning. With Milwaukee leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a changeup from Andy Benes, who led the AL in strikeouts with 183 last year, and punished it. The result was his 18th home run of the season, which put the Brewers on top, 3-0.

Murphy attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
