Browne Goes Deep Twice in 13-6 Cardinals Win
A good performance from right fielder Byron Browne helped the St. Louis Cardinals defeat the New York (N) Mets, 13-6. Browne slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5 for the Cardinals. St. Louis is now 39-39, while New York (N) is 47-28.

With St. Louis leading 9-2 in the top of the sixth, Browne came up to bat against New York (N) pitcher Carl Bouldin. Browne hit a slider to center for a 3-run home run. His 17th home run of the season put the Cardinals on top, 12-2.

Browne called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
