Spirited fans greeted the Miami Marlins for their clash with the Montreal Expos.

The Montreal Expos topped the Miami Marlins, 13-5, with first baseman Adam LaRoche playing a big role. LaRoche hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 5 for the Expos in the win. The Marlins, now 28-47, have lost 5 in a row.

Left Fielder Rafael Palmeiro made an impact for Montreal, when he swatted a grand slam home run off Steve McCatty in the top of the third. For the contest, Palmeiro was 1 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.
