White Sox Prevail, 4-2, Over Boston
|
The Chicago (A) White Sox topped the Boston Red Sox, 4-2, in American League action at Comiskey Park. The standout performance belonged to Chicago (A) pitcher and Parkin, Arkansas, native Harry Kelley. Frank Francisco was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 17 of 19 save opportunities. By defeating Boston, the 4th-place White Sox improved to 42-34.
Daric Barton had a big run-scoring double for the White Sox in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Chicago (A) leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a cutter from Brad Halsey, who is tied for 8th in the AL in quality starts with 9, and swatted a double to center. It was his 17th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the White Sox ahead, 2-0.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Barton said after the game.
