Jones goes 3-for-4 in Boston Win
|
At Oriole Park at Camden Yards, the Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Adam Jones batted in 3 runs to lead Boston to a win over Baltimore. The final score was 7-3. Jones chipped in 2 singles and 1 home run. The winning pitcher was 30-year old right-handed pitcher Aaron Small. He tossed 116 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits.
Boston first baseman Jeff Kent contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 3rd hit of the season and put the Red Sox ahead, 3-1.
"We did a lot of things right," said Kent.
Boston is now 36-40, Baltimore 30-44.
