Diamondbacks 2-1 Victors Over Milwaukee
|
Hurler Mike Nagy gave the Arizona Diamondbacks a solid start. The native of Unknown helped his team defeat the Milwaukee Brewers, 2-1, at Chase Field. The defeat makes Milwaukee 48-22.
Jim Bottomley had a big run-scoring double for the Diamondbacks in the bottom of the third inning. With Arizona leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Pete Smith, the 16th overall pick in the 1998 draft, and swatted a double to center. It was his 22nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Diamondbacks ahead, 2-0.
"We did just enough to win," Bottomley said.
