Fans of the Chicago (N) Cubs who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Chicago (N) win over the visiting Houston Astros, 4-2. Sammy Ellis started for the home team against Kyle Hendricks. Kyle Hendricks earned accolades for his performance. Tim Dillard, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Carl Sawatski helped out the Chicago (N) cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the catcher was 1-4.
"I try to not think too much," said Sawatski.
