4-3 Triumph Runs Brewers Streak to 11 Games
|
The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Chicago (N) Cubs, 4-3, in part because of first baseman George Scott. He was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. Milwaukee reliever Greg Bollo was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Kirk Rueter took the loss. The Brewers, now 48-21, have won 11 in a row.
Bobby Higginson, who finished 3rd in the AL in doubles with 48 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Higginson contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Milwaukee up, 3-2.
"Young guys to old guys," said Higginson, "we're all going out there and doing what it takes to win."
