Astros Lose to Orioles in Walk-Off
|
The Baltimore Orioles defeated the Houston Astros, 9-8. Left Fielder Hack Wilson deserved a large share of the credit. Wilson slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Orioles. The winner was Jeff Zimmerman in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Robert Carson took the loss. The 9th-place Orioles have won 4 consecutive games.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Wilson hit a fastball from Robert Carson for a solo home run. The Orioles, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Wilson.
