Boston Sent Home with 7-4 Loss
|
The Texas Rangers weathered a fine game by Boston second baseman Lou Stringer to upend the Red Sox, 7-4, at Fenway Park. Stringer went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The winning pitcher was Hector Noesi. He's now 4-6. He went 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits for the Rangers. After today's action, Texas sits at 27-37, while Boston falls to 32-33.
Antonio Perez, who is rated as the 41st best prospect by BNN, helped out the Texas cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the third baseman went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Boston manager Doug Morton. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
