Twins Beat Cleveland, 2-1
|
Mike Ryba, who finished 2nd in the AL in ERA with 3.30 last year, never let the Guardians get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Twins to a win, 2-1. Brusdar Graterol recorded the save for Minnesota, his 2nd of the season. The loss drops Cleveland to 1-6.
Manny Trillo, who is a two-time Great Glove Award winner, helped out the Minnesota cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the second baseman went 1-4.
"Mike's stuff looked really, really crisp," said Dan Hornbaker, the Twins manager.
