Trammell Hits 2 home runs in Twins Win
|
With Taylor Trammell leading the charge, the Minnesota Twins defeated the Baltimore Orioles, 5-4. Trammell was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Twins. Vern Law picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-2. He struck out 8 in 7 innings. The 6th-place Twins are 30-32.
Trevor Plouffe, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1998 draft, helped out the Minnesota cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the first baseman drove in one run.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Baltimore manager Andre Ivarsson. "But we decided not to take it."
