It's official. Don Young of the Boston Red Sox hit his 500th home run tonight.

The Boston Red Sox took on the Texas Rangers and downed them 6-1, but the big story of the night was the milestone home run for Young. He rounded the bases with a smile and politely stepped on home plate and walked back to the dugout.

"500 is a big number, and I am thankful for the ability to get to this milestone. But it's all about the team today, my accomplishments are just one piece to the Red Sox puzzle."

The Red Sox left fielder went 3-for-4 with 2 home runs and 4 runs batted in as the Boston Red Sox topped the Texas Rangers.

Young is hitting .309 lifetime with 2309 hits, 380 doubles, 21 triples, 501 home runs, and 1585 RBIs to date. He has scored 1126 runs, walked 228 times and has a .329 OBP.
