Twins Lose to Mariners, 6-5
The Seattle Mariners trumped the Minnesota Twins, 6-5, at Rogers Centre. Seattle left fielder Al Simmons was terrific. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Seattle pitcher Andy Benes got the win. He's now 7-4. Sean Runyan was tagged with the loss. The win for the Mariners raised their record to 32-27.

Simmons had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a full count curveball from Sean Runyan, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Mariners a 6-5 lead. It was the 18th home run of the year for Simmons.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Simmons, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
