The Montreal Expos got a stellar performance from pitcher Pat Caraway, who handcuffed the Colorado offense en route to a win, 6-1, at Stade Olympique. Caraway, now 7-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. So far in 2000, Montreal is 27-28.

With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Claudell Washington had a game-changing hit. The Expos left fielder slammed a 2-run single off Allan Simpson, making the score 4-1, Montreal.

Washington called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
