Giants Win, Hendrick drives in 6 runs
|
The San Francisco Giants defeated the Texas Rangers, 20-8, at Globe Life Field. San Francisco was led by former first round draft pick Harvey Hendrick, who went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 6. Doug Rau, the winning pitcher, is now 6-4. He went 7 innings, allowing 6 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 4. By defeating Texas, the 5th-place Giants improved to 28-27.
San Francisco grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Hendrick hit a grand slam home run off Mark Leiter Jr.. His 5th home run of the season put the Giants out in front, 7-3.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said San Francisco skipper Jake Fegan.
