Miami Gets Another L
|
Due in large part to left fielder Albie Pearson, the Milwaukee Brewers sunk the Miami Marlins, 8-6. Pearson was 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. The winning pitcher was Tom Brewer. He's now 6-3. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits for the Brewers. Jonathan Broxton closed the door for Milwaukee, picking up his 14th save of the year.
Dale Murphy had a big bases-clearing double for the Brewers in the bottom of the third inning. With Milwaukee leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Shawn Hillegas and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Brewers ahead, 5-0.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Murphy told the Milwaukee Citizen.
The losing skid has reached 7 games for Miami.
