Yankees Drop Guardians, 6-3
|
New York (A) and Cleveland duked it out and the Yankees came out victorious.
The New York (A) Yankees stopped the Cleveland Guardians, 6-3, at League Park. The Yankees got a big game from Nolan Reimold, who went 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 4. Sean Marshall, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings.
Reimold had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a first pitch slider from Camilo Doval, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Yankees a 6-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Reimold.
"Took some scratching and clawing," said Reimold. "But we got it done."
The defeat makes Cleveland 1-5.
