Loaiza Thwarts Cleveland, 2-0
|
Esteban Loaiza kept the Cleveland Guardians hitters from doing much damage at League Park.
Cleveland could only muster 3 hits and draw 1 walk against the right-handed Loaiza, who controlled them throughout the game. San Francisco won the contest, 2-0. Loaiza added 7 strikeouts in his complete-game effort.
"I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Loaiza told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time."
This year, Loaiza has compiled a 4-4 mark with a 3.01 ERA in 11 starts.
