Yankees Lose Big to Rangers, 12-2
The Texas Rangers topped the New York (A) Yankees, 12-2, with right fielder Kevin Bass playing a big role. Bass went 4-4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 3 for the Rangers in the win. The Rangers saw their record improve to 21-29.

Texas got a big at-bat from Los Angeles, California native Eric Davis, who in the bottom of the third hit a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Rangers ahead, 8-0.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Texas manager Kyle Shea.
