Minnesota pitcher Kyle Lohse did his part in helping his team defeat the Cleveland Guardians, 3-0. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Lohse yielded no runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-1. Brusdar Graterol closed the door for Minnesota, picking up his 11th save of the year.

Norm Siebern, who is tied for 3rd in the AL in runs scored with 40, had a direct impact on the outcome. Siebern contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Minnesota up, 2-0.

"Kyle's stuff looked really, really crisp," said Dan Hornbaker, the Twins manager.
