New York (N) and Chicago (N) duked it out and the Mets came out victorious.

The New York (N) Mets used the hitting of first baseman Dick Allen to subdue the Chicago (N) Cubs, 7-6, in 11 innings. For the game, Allen was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The win was credited to two-time All-Star Carl Bouldin in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Tim Dillard took the loss.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the 11th for New York (N). That's when Darren Lewis hit a solo home run off 36-year old right-handed pitcher Tim Dillard to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"This wasn't a good win," said Allen. "It was a great win."

The Mets now have a mark of 31-16.
