Twins Win at Boston, 8-7
|
Boston designated hitter Joe Hauser was sensational. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Minnesota beat the Red Sox, 8-7. The Twins win now puts them at 21-25.
Minnesota needed the clutch hitting of Trevor Plouffe to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Twins on top, 7-6. For the game, Plouffe had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Minnesota manager Dan Hornbaker.
