Roy Oswalt, who led the NL in ERA with 3.18 in 1993, was terrific for the Boston Red Sox in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Minnesota Twins. His performance earned Oswalt rave reviews. Greg Bollo earned the save for Boston, his 11th. With the win, Boston has a record of 22-24. Minnesota falls to 20-24.

Marcus Giles had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Boston. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Boston in front, 3-1.

"I really like what we did out there today," Oswalt said after the game.
