Twins Spill Yankees, 4-2
|
The New York (A) Yankees got a superb performance from pitcher Jack Sanford, but the Minnesota Twins still won the game, 4-2. Sanford threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball. The Twins improved their record to 16-20 with the win over New York (A).
Minnesota used a clutch at-bat from Jonah Heim to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Twins ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I really like what we did out there today," Heim said after the game.
