Chicago (N) Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in LCS
The Chicago (N) Cubs got a strong performance from pitcher Henderson Alvarez III, who stymied the New York (N) offense en route to a 4-0 win in Game 3 of the League Championship Series. The Mets could never get a bead on the right-handed Alvarez III, who threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The Cubs now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series.

The Mets had trouble solving Alvarez III, who surrendered no runs on 2 hits over 7 innings.

"All my pitches were working," said Alvarez III. "They were all synchronized together in attacking the zone."
