Arizona Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-1
Blake Snell knew he couldn't win the series for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Down 3-0, it would take a lot more than one start. The best he could do, he figured, was prevent a sweep and give the Chase Field faithful a good time. Check and check.

The Arizona left-hander threw a complete game shutout against the red-hot Chicago (N) Cubs to get the Diamondbacks on the board in the series, striking out 11 along the way. The Diamondbacks will be looking to keep the momentum the next time the teams meet. With the 5-0 win, Arizona now trails 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Snell confounded Chicago (N) hitters. Over 9 innings, he allowed no runs on 2 hits.

"Blake pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Arizona manager Alex Baxter.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Chase Field in Phoenix.
