Siebern Leads Twins to Win
|
Norm Siebern was a major contributor to the 5-2 Minnesota win over Boston. The Twins right fielder was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times. Minnesota starter Vern Law was credited with the win after throwing 90 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Brusdar Graterol, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Trevor Plouffe had a big solo home run for the Twins in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Minnesota leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a changeup from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Clyde King and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Twins on top, 3-1.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Siebern. "Just do my job."
Boston now has a record of 2-2.
