White Sox Get Extra-Inning, 3-2 Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Chicago (A) White Sox and the Cleveland Guardians, pitcher Kevin Appier was the difference between victory and defeat. The Chicago (A) right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 White Sox win. The winner was Ray Narleski in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Lee Griffeth took the loss. Today's win puts Chicago (A) at 18-16, while Cleveland falls to 11-23.
The White Sox got a clutch hit from shortstop Daryl Spencer. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the White Sox.
"Kevin was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Chicago (A) manager Steven Ejercito.
