The Houston Astros withstood an impressive performance by New York (A) right fielder Desmond Jennings to defeat the Yankees, 7-4, at Minute Maid Park. Jennings went 3-5 with a triple and a double. He scored 3 runs. Picking up the save was two-time All-Star Robert Carson. Houston sits at 13-18 in the early going.

The Yankees had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Astros going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old catcher Brayan Pena came to the plate. Pena hit a 3-run home run on a 0-1 fastball from New York (A) hurler Teddy Higuera. It was Pena's 3rd home run of the year.

"It was our day today," Pena told the Houston Herald. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
