Diamondbacks Win with Late Rally
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks picked up a win at Metropolitan Stadium, knocking off the Minnesota Twins, 4-3, in 12 innings. On the mound for Arizona was right-hander Jack Fisher. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. The winner in relief was Yhonathan Barrios. He is now 1-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. With the win, Arizona lifts its record to 16-11.
Jim Bottomley, who finished 4th in the NL in slugging percentage with .544 in 1992, had a direct impact on the outcome. Bottomley contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 12th inning to put Arizona up, 4-3.
"Jack gave us everything he had," said Arizona manager Alex Baxter.
