5-4 Win for New York (N) in Extras
|
Mets fans were sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
New York (N) Mets starter Carl Hubbell pitched a strong game against the Chicago (A) White Sox at Shea Stadium, leading the Mets to victory, 5-4. With the win, New York (N) lifts its record to 14-13.
Up to bat in the bottom of the 11th, 28-year old second baseman Argenis Diaz had a chance to be the hero. Chicago (A) pitcher Luke Jackson wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Diaz grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Mets had themselves a thrilling win.
"This is a resilient bunch," said New York (N) manager Jamie Dagostini.
