The Miami Marlins dumped the Cleveland Guardians, 7-2, in large part due to right fielder Beau Bell. On the day, Bell was 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Marlins. Picking up the win was Dick Ellsworth. He went 9 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits. The left--hander struck out 1 and walked 1. For Cleveland, now 5-21, the season is off to a dismal start.

With Miami leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Bell hit a curveball from Don Kaiser for a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Marlins ahead, 4-0.
